Preliminary task preparation...

Preliminary Task
For our preliminary task we had to plan and create a very short piece of action featuring a person walking into a room, an exchange of dialogue, then a person leaving the room. We had to include a 180degree shot, match on action and a shot/reverse shot. Harvey and I are working together. I decided that our situation should be that of an office; with a boss congratulating an interviewee that they were successful is getting a job within the company. We checked out two possible locations. Harvey took some stills of the preferred location and decided that it was suitable for our filming. My role in the piece is to be the woman. Although Harvey and I will not be physically filming our piece, we have detailed story boards for the filming and will each be editing our own version.

My extract would be from a TV drama. The whole plot line is that the boss turns sour when the new employee refuses to go on a date with him. He makes her work life difficult and eventually ends up becoming so obsessed with her that the stalks her, attacks and abducts her. Her pair of glasses fall off when he attacks her at the office when he's attacking her. After 3 days of being missing the police intervene and find her glasses in the bosses office. They then search his house and find her tied to a chair. The boss is arrested and jailed, and the woman moves on to a different company.

My extract comes from the very beginning of the story where the characters are meeting each other only for the second time.
