Filming...

So on Thursday 7th October, Harvey and I filmed shots for our preliminary task.
First of all we had to gather up all our props and costume for the task. We chose things such as notebooks, a laptop, folders etc. We both wore 'smart' business wear.

The next stage was to make our location look exactly as we wanted it. This involved moving furniture around, removing things from the room and placing our props in there. We did not have to alter lighting, as the 'everyday' lighting was what we needed. The sound was all diegetic, so no sound preparation was needed. This whole process of preparing location took much longer than we originally expected. However once we were finished sorting the location; it looked exactly as we wanted.

We used stereotype in our piece. This was so as soon as Harvey came on screen in a suit sitting at a desk, the audience would know he was an important business man.

We then began to film. Some of the shots (such as when I walked through the door, and the camera followed me) were rather difficult to do and took several attempts.

Although we encountered some difficulties such as difficult shots, we were happy with the end result and look forward to the editing process.

Some errors we noticed during the editing process.
1. When the employee is knocking on the door, in the background you can see a sign on a door which says "Welcome to the ICT department" and you can see a lady talking to a group of people. This was something we failed to notice at the time of filming. If we had the chance to re-film, we would obviously remove the sign and ensure no people were visible through the gap in the door.

2. Also, during the very first shot when the employee is walking to the first door, the camera gets knocked. The following action in this shot is then ever so slightly on the tilt. This was not something noticed until the editing process and if we had the chance to re-film, we would ensure that the tripod was on level ground and not moved unless needed to be.

3. When the boss is 'looking over' the employee's files whilst speaking; he is looking at a blank page. You can see it's a blank page when he picks the file up off the desk and opens the page in view of camera. Had he have opened the file when it was not facing the camera, then this error would not have been picked up on camera.

4. Finally, in hindsight we would have included a close up on the bosses face when he is leering at the candidate to show that he is up to no good and thinking 'evil' thoughts.
